Claudette LaFlamme

Volunteer Award

Claudette has been a member of EMNA since its inception in 2002. She has lived in East Mountain since 1980, but also owns a home In Clearwater, Florida, which she visits several times each year. Claudette retired from Watertown High School in 1997 after having taught French and Spanish for 36 years. She is an active parishioner of Blessed Sacrament Church where she performs the duties of sacristan preparing the altar for dally mass. She holds the office of Chairperson for Professional Affairs for Delta Kappa Gamma, which is a teachers' International honor society. Claudette has chaired the East Mt Neighborhood Assn's Harry Northrop Grant Committee since its
inception 7 years ago. She has served on the hospitality committee and has helped with our pancake breakfasts, awards dinners and many other association activities. Her friendly smile and gentle demeanor has endeared

 

Nancy Ptak

Volunteer Award

Nancy is an imported treasure. She was born in Catignano, Italy and came to the USA at the age of 1 ˝ yrs. She is one of 9 children. She and Mike have been married for 28 years and have two beautiful daughters, Lisa and Jennifer, and most recently became grandparents on 4/2/10 to Joseph Mark Rocco, III. Nancy has worked for Sunbridge Health Care for 25 years and is also a Medicaid Consultant for Lighthouse Consulting. She is also a member of the National Organization of Italian American Women. Her hobbies include quilting, needlepoint, crocheting, and cross stitch. She enjoys Zumba classes and is an excellent cook. Her homemade pasta and biscotti cookies are
world famous! Since Its Inception in 2002 the East Mt, Neighborhood Assn. has been an important part of Nancy’s life. She served as Secretary from 2007 - 2009. She has been involved in Just about every project we have undertaken from serving pancakes, providing goodies for hospitality, set up and clean up for events, attending city meetings during condo opposition, planting the flower flag, serving as membership chairperson, co-chairing the brick committee, selling duck race tickets, and probably many more we have failed to mention. Thanks, Nancy, for all that you do for us. You are one of a kind!
